WOA Board of Directors Meeting
March Board Meeting will be held Wednesday March 18, 2020 at 7:00 PM at the Community Center. Property owners are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Email Addresses – Please help us keep the neighborhood informed
We’d like to have email addresses for as many property owners as possible and ensure that our emails are not going to spam. If you are talking to your neighbors, please ask them if they are receiving these newsletters and if not ask them to check their spam folders or contact us for help. Thanks for your assistance. Also let them know that information is posted on the website www.wildewoodliving.com if they do not have an email address but do have Internet access.
NEIGHBORHOOD CLEANUP
Please read and respond to this section!
Historically, Wildewood residents have been able to participate in the Great American Cleanup held by the city of Chandler every year and dispose of unwanted items at River Park. This year, the city elected to only allow City residents to participate and we are not in the city limits so cannot participate.
As a result, the board is investigating holding a one-day Cleanup day for Wildewood residents only. In order to do so, we would need to bring in one or more dumpsters depending on the size. Depending on the amount of interest, we are currently estimating a cost of $500-600. We do not yet have a date, but it will be far enough out to give everyone a chance to plan and get their items ready.
Please let us know ASAP by phone or text (903-202-0964) or email wildewoodboard@gmail.com the following information:
1. If you want to participate, provide us some information on what it is you need to get rid of. For example, if you have appliances (washer/dryer, etc.) those would need to be arranged for separately. If you have tires, there are fees to dispose of them, we’d need to plan for that. Also do you need help loading or transporting the items you would like to dispose of?
2. If this is going to work, we will need help! Let us know if you are willing to work on the day to help pick up items that need to be disposed of, or direct traffic at the drop-off site, or do any other tasks that need to be taken care of such as putting out flyers ahead of time or anything else that comes up.
Drainage
With the recent heavy rains, numerous areas in Henderson County including Wildewood experienced flooding. Keeping the drainage ditches working properly is a joint responsibility of the property owner and the county. The county can clean and maintain the ditches but cannot clean the culverts under the driveways, they belong to the property owner. Please ensure your culverts are allowing water to flow freely and not flooding your neighbors. If you are not able to clear a culvert yourself, please contact a board member and we will try to help find volunteers to help out.
If your culvert is permanently clogged, the county will install a new one at no charge but the property owner must obtain the culvert themselves. If you are in such a situation, please contact the Precinct 3 County Commissioner Chuck McHam’s office at (903) 469-3430. They will schedule someone to come out and review your property and help determine what size culvert is required.
If there are areas where the ditches are not draining properly, you can report them to the Commissioner at (903) 469-3430.
